Behind the glitz and glamour of Dubai, there are some incredible sights to see in the Emirate, and this video, by Aiden Crawford, captures Deira Fish Market beautifully.
Probably one of the few places in the world without a Wikipedia page, Deira Fish Market has been located at the Corniche in Deira since 1988, and is famously the cheapest place in Dubai for fresh fish.
For all the ins and outs of the market check out, Dubai blogger, I Live in a Frying Pan, who has captured her trip to the market here. You can also see and read more of the market from food aficionado, Serious Eats, here.
I’ve discovered that while at the market you can take your fish directly to a restaurant called Grill & Shark, located next door, where expert chef Shakir will cook your seafood bounty on the spot. Sign. Me. Up.
If you want to visit, an early night is required. The market is open every day from 5am.
In the meantime, here’s that video. Did I mention how beautiful it is?!

See you there, and don’t forget to always buy sustainable fish. You can get the full list from ChooseWisely.ae.
